I love fall and all the changes it brings. The changing weather, the changing leaves, and all the changing colors. Fall is the perfect time to add a little change to your hair color and style.

Fall is also when my mom has her birthday. I started thinking.. “What could I do or give to the woman who has helped me my entire life?” Then I thought, “I’ll pamper her and give her an at-home spa day!”

I absolutely love that I could walk right into the Health & Beauty section at Walmart and find the exact color I wanted.

My mom is a teacher so her hair is usually up in a bun or an updo, so I haven’t seen her hair down in a while. As I was getting ready to color her hair all I could think was, “Wow! My mom’s hair is like a mermaid’s hair! This is awesome but let’s make it even better!” The one thing she asked was that I cover up her gray hair.

So we went to work.

Step 1: Add the color cream to the applicator bottle with the developer lotion.

Step 2: Add the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime color to your hair

I noticed immediately that her hair was shinier and it matched the color on the box perfectly (huge relief)!
As we waited for the color to set, we were able to chat and laugh together. After about 30 minutes we rinsed her hair out.

Step 3: Rinse hair out

Step 4: Add Intensive Care Elixir to towel dried hair, leave for 2-3 minutes then rinse

As we rinsed my mom’s hair out and it was drying, I noticed how vibrant and beautiful the color turned out. What is even better, is that the color is long lasting and it defies fading for up to 9 weeks!

So since my mom’s hair looked a mermaid’s hair, it was fitting to give her a new hair style of mermaid waves and fishtail braids!

I did 2 fishtails braids on each side that came together as 1 braid in the back. I also added some mermaid waves to bring the whole look together.

Look at that color!!! Seriously look at how shiny and vibrant and beautiful that color is!!
